Have Fun in the Sun with Our Summer Programs

iCan Bike

July 28 to August 1, 2025

Ages 8+: 75 Minute Session Each Day for 5 Days
Location: East Lyme High School, 22 Chesterfield Road, East Lyme, CT

The goal of iCan Bike is to teach individuals with disabilities to ride a conventional two wheel bicycle and become lifelong independent riders. This achievement, in turn, creates a gateway of opportunity, helping them gain assurance and self-reliance in many other aspects of their lives.

iCan Bike uses adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to enable individuals with disabilities to learn to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle.

Riders attend one 75 minute session each day for five consecutive days where they learn to ride while accompanied and encouraged by volunteer “spotters”. Over the course of the week we continually adjust the bikes’ stability in an effort to challenge riders’ balance as they gradually discover the skill and joy of riding.

Tennis PALS

Session 1: June 23-27, 2025
Session 2: July 7-11

The mission of Tennis Pals is to introduce the physical, mental, and social benefits of tennis to youth and young adults with special needs including physical, cognitive, and/or developmental challenges. Tennis PALS provides a fun, supportive, and adaptive environment. We will do our best to make the game adaptable for any individual.

This program is run by local tennis pros and student volunteers. T-shirts and all equipment will be provided.

Times: 5:30-6:30pm
Ages: 8+
Cost: $25 per session
Location: Lyme-Old Lyme High School, 69 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT

The program is help in partnership with Lyme’s Youth Service Bureau.
